Disillusion

Masters of deception but slaves to illusions.
Security is a false hope that rests in trust and this trust is an outer manifestation of the inner confidence that rests in ourselves.
It reminds us that we have received what we wish for and we are proud that we have conquered it.
But when our security collapses in the face of reality we are starkly disappointed and we resort to the tools of anger, hatred and revenge.
We neglect to consider that it was our selfishness that created our trust and that evolved over time into a dependence that while viewed as mutual, on the one hand, was actually exploitative on the other.
Hence our disillusionment.
