On weakness


If you are weak, you cannot endure to the end whether or not you pray at length and for many days.
It’s not a matter of prayers that strengthens us, it is our indomitable will to live in the face of difficulties.
So that when we pray, it is only because we wish for temperance to show mercy to those who offend us and not because we are too weak to have courage.
